Our reaction to the 2015 Autumn Statement

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, has just announced there will be no real terms cut in police funding in England and Wales, including the Met Police here in London.

We welcome these comments and are heartened that the Government has listened to the concerns of the thousands of business leaders across London who feared the consequences of the proposed deep cuts.

The tragic incidents in Paris remind us that public safety must be paramount, but ensuring that London is a safe city is also vital to the capital’s continued success in attracting investment, business and leisure visitors.

We will await the full details but this is good news for the future security of the capital and the future of London as the world’s leading global city.
