With more than six hundred world-renowned musicians and one hundred horses, performing in London’s finest setting, the 2020 Household Division Beating Retreat is a spectacle not to be missed. Stirring music, precision drill, horsemanship, dramatic lighting and fireworks, will all combine in an unforgettable, thrilling evening of music and pageantry.
This year the theme will be ‘THE SWORD AND THE CROWN”, paying tribute to Her Majesty the Queen, recognizing the service of the Foot Guards and the British Army in defence of the Nation at home and abroad, marking the 75 years of peace in Europe since the end of World War II. Beating Retreat takes place over two nights only and is the perfect prelude to the public celebrations by these same soldiers for Her Majesty The Queen’s Birthday, the pinnacle of Britain’s ceremonial pomp and display.
