Improve your Health & Wellbeing with Victoria BID

Victoria BID is collaborating with several partners to bring to you a series of Health and Wellbeing events this May.

A study by the mental health charity Mind has found that currently 1 in 6 workers is dealing with a mental health problem such as anxiety, depression or stress which inevitably stops people performing at their best and decreases productivity. In the past year this has been said to cost the UK economy around £34.9bn; with stress, depression or anxiety accounting for 49% of all working days lost due to ill health.

NHS England also recommend that in order to help improve both physical and mental wellbeing being active is key and physical activity as little as a 10 minute brisk walk each day can help contribute to improving health all round.

It is important for businesses to ensure employees’ mental health and wellbeing is being supported which is why we are encouraging all those working in Victoria to join us in improving health and wellbeing this May.

Mental Health Awareness Week will be taking place from 14th – 20th May and this year’s focus will be on stress. Tackling stress is one way we can begin to tackle mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
