Make the Grade

For a third year running Victoria BID has joined forces with social enterprise, Ahead Partnership, to run Make the Grade. Make the Grade is part of Victoria BID’s corporate social responsibility strategy bringing together schools and college teams with business experts and volunteers within the Victoria area. This creates partnerships between education and employers to design, organise and deliver programmes of engaging and immersive career-related activities for students.

Through this scheme businesses provide opportunities for employment, volunteering and placements for young people in the area to help them gain experience and find opportunities within Victoria. This boosts Victoria’s sustainability and works towards the Victoria BID’s sense of community and success for those within it.

Make the Grade allows businesses of every size to contribute towards the local residents and community, being beneficial for everyone. This not only provides young people with prospects of a successful future, but also allows the businesses involved to improve their own skills, such as leadership, coaching and teamwork.

They additionally get the opportunity to welcome new and valuable individuals into their businesses, whilst giving back to the community and working towards the sustainability of the Victoria area.
