London is one of the most diverse and welcoming cities on Earth, but there has never been a better time for us to be unified in asking: what more can we do? How can we best help our underrepresented colleagues, neighbours, friends and fellow Londoners? What practically can we do right now – as organisations, communities and individuals – to help bring about the change we know is needed?
As organisations that represent businesses, we know that many employers and employees alike want to ensure how they can play a more active and positive role in addressing these big societal challenges, which affect so many of their teams and their families.
As a first step, we’ll be hosting a workshop for our business communities on 28 July with Inclusion 365. The ‘Overcoming Unconscious Bias in the Workplace’ webinar will introduce participants to the concept of unconscious bias, how it can manifest itself in the workplace, and develop practical strategies for eliminating it.
