The Passage fundraising challenge

Headline Date 01-05-2018

The Passage are a charity providing homeless people with support to transform their own lives. They run London’s largest voluntary sector resource centre for homeless and vulnerable people, helping up to 200 people every day.

Opening in 2000, their hostel, Passage House, has 40 beds, whilst their 16 self-contained studio flats in Montfort House have staff on-site to help with long term rough sleepers. When clients use their services, they treat them with respect and dignity, finding out what they require and desire to provide them with the best professional advice and help.

The Passage not only helps those in need, but is also committed to fostering good relations with its neighbours and to reducing negative impacts its presence might bring to a community, even producing a Good Neighbourhood Policy.

Every year it costs The Passage £4 million to keep going, and only 33% of that is funded through statutory sources, they rely on donations to collect the remaining amount.

Victoria BID are looking for businesses to take part in a Fundraising Challenge in June to raise money for The Passage. Each team will be given £100 and the challenge is to use your business acumen to find innovative and imaginative ways to fundraise; be it baking for a cake sale or hosting a raffle, to turn £100 into a much larger amount.

Teams will have 2 weeks to complete the challenge and all money raised will be donated to The Passage.
