Clean and Green

We work to improve and enhance the physical landscape of Victoria.

Since 2010, Victoria BID has taken big strides in leading the development of a sustainable and vibrant local business environment through retrofitting green infrastructure, associated research and monitoring, public realm projects and keeping the area tidy with dedicated cleaning teams. We work closely with public and private sector partners to achieve a positive change in the physical landscape of Victoria. We carry out high quality projects that create pleasant and green spaces for everyone to benefit from – workers, residents, visitors and wildlife.

Highlights of our work include:

  • Sponsoring the Urban Connections garden at the RHS 2016 Chelsea Flower Show and bringing the garden back to Victoria as parklets.
  • Helping establish one of London’s largest and most environmentally-beneficial living walls at The Rubens at the Palace Hotel.
  • Launch of the Green Infrastructure Audit Best Practice Guide that has been widely admired by other London BIDs.
  • Our day and night-time additional cleaning teams that remove grime from Victoria’s pavements and keep the area clean, especially around Westminster Cathedral Piazza.
  • 33 trees planted to increase tree cover and reap the business, environment, and social benefits of tree planting.
  • Commissioning studies to quantify the benefits of green infrastructure.
From property developers to landlords, facilities managers to estate teams - all continue to be involved in planning, installing and maintaining new green space in Victoria.
