Get your dancing shoes on and waltz through the stars before enjoying delicious street food, alcoholic drinks and one of the best films of the decade!
On Friday 18th August, Victoria Business Improvement District and The Village Screen pop-up cinema are bringing the old Hollywood Glamour to Upper Grosvenor Gardens in Victoria with a very special screening of La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
Audience members will be seated on vintage deckchairs in the gardens and given wireless headphones for the screening.
Narrowly missing out on the Oscar for Best Picture, the film follows two L.A. dreamers; a suavely charming soft-spoken jazz pianist (Gosling) and a brilliant vivacious playwright (Stone). While waiting for their big break, they attempt to reconcile aspirations and relationships in this magical old-school romance.
Having begun as Village Green Events Co, this creative team’s love of creating and delivering exceptional events, led them to launch their first pop up cinema event in 2015. Since then they have run over 30 events in Sheffield, Manchester and the Peak District, screening classic films in quirky locations, including swimming pools, woodland areas, warehouse spaces, old Victorian baths, farm yards and more. Working with some of the UK’s best street food traders and DJs ensures events are really brought to life.
